T Mobile

Dimensions of 5G
(Director's Cut)

5G isn’t just for streaming The Bear while also on a work Zoom. In business, it can mean the difference between life and death. And that was (part of) our task.
Worldwide Agency VCCP and T-Mobile for Business trusted Clim Studio and Hornet (our lovely US reps and partners) to create eight bespoke 3D worlds in which we were able to tell amazingly human stories through the lens of 5G technology. These 3D worlds came to life in 8x:60” videos and as static hero images on a new digital hub.

Creating 8 minutes of CG realistic character-based animation in 3 months is not an easy challenge, is it? Well, we made it feel easy for VCCP and T-Mobile thanks to a smooth, perfectly organized production plan.

A team of more than 50 people, the biggest team Clim orchestrated so far. Creatives, producers, designers, and animators worked together to create this beast of a job. A true opportunity to make the quote “teamwork makes the dream work” true.

The Cube

Taking inspiration from their 5G-HQ logotype, the worlds created for this project start and live in the T-Mobile 5G magenta cube, which fades to reveal the world within. This felt like the perfect opportunity to introduce the brand right from the beginning and to tide all the stories up, giving visual continuity and cohesiveness on the digital hub.

Design. Simplified Realness.

Business is Business which is very different than jobs targeted to consumers.
The outcome needed to feel serious, realistic, and relatable.

5G is about organizing big, complex structures and networks such as hospitals, superstores, stadiums… Our worlds should feel art-directed and designed but at the same time realistic enough for enterprises and organizations to feel connected to them. That’s why finding the right spot was crucial to giving the project the right approach.

Character based

We built a huge gallery of characters for the 8 different films. Enough to create a stadium’s cheering crowd. Two different morphologies for male and female, different skin tones, and plenty of haircuts, outfits, and props.

The Magenta Mode

Representing 5G was key. We decided to change our worlds to identify when 5G gets into action. We called it “Magenta Mode” and we used it to show the hidden magic that happens between all 5G devices, systems and networks.
